Emily Haines - Knives Don't Have Your Back *

Another definite PF review. If it's from Canada, and it has anything to do with Broken Social Scene, it will be reviewed on PF. Not that Emily Haines isn't outstanding in her own right. I predict an 8.2 for this collection of indie-rock weepers. Actual rating: 7.3. Point differential: 0.9.

Did you factor in the 4.2 that the last Metric album got?

No, and in hindsight 8.2 seems a bit high. But that's why I don't make a living doing this. I think that last Metric album deserves more than 4.2.

The song was also reviewed by a friend of the band from toronto, which is always a bad sign of being too close for comfort as far as i'm concerned.

Absolutely, that's just wrong and bush to be honest.

Metric's Emily Haines and James Shaw (who appears on her solo album) are part of the BSS collective. BSS's drummer Justin Peroff plays on this record too.

Emily Haines is amazing and her work with Metric definatly deserves way, way more than a 4.2. You just don't find artists that can't write like her, or sing like her either.
